How The Perfect Jean did it

The Perfect Jean had a return rate that came with the territory — denim is a category where customers try on and send back regularly. International returns were costing $30+ per order. Inventory was stuck in transit for weeks.
After moving to OpenBorder's local return hubs, return cost dropped to under $8 per order. Inventory turns around in days, not weeks.

Frequently asked questions
How does the local return hub actually work?
When a customer initiates a return through your store, they get a return label that ships to our local hub — in their country or region. We receive the return, inspect it, and restock it as sellable inventory. The whole process is automated end-to-end. Your team doesn't manage individual returns.
How fast does inventory get back into sellable stock?
Most returns are inspected and restocked within 5–7 days of arriving at the hub. Compared to cross-border returns — which often take 3 weeks or more — this dramatically improves inventory turnover and cash flow.
Can I keep using Loop or my existing returns app?
Yes. We integrate with Loop, and other returns apps. Your customer-facing experience stays the same. We add the international fulfillment and routing layer underneath.
What happens to returned inventory? Does it have to come back to the US or UK?
No, the returned inventory stays in the local hub and is resold to customers in that region. It only comes back to your home market if you choose to consolidate.
Is this only for brands with international fulfillment, or can I use it without?
You can use international returns whether or not you're using OpenBorder for fulfillment. If you're shipping cross-border from your home market, returns can still go to a local hub in the destination market. We make returns work either way.
